After a one hundred metre walk through a patch of rainforest, hop from rock to rock along the creekside path to this little, waist-deep pool at the base of Ellinjaa Falls.

Being in the wet tropics, the character of this swim can change dramatically. When it has been dry and the river is low, the falls are easy to reach and the water is clear,
creating a delightful spot to frolick in the water as the waterfall trickles in at the top end.
However when it rains, as it does much of the time in this part of the world, the creek swells and the water becomes muddy, drowning out the pool and submerging the rocks that allow you to
reach it without getting your feet wet. When it comes to swimming here, check the weather forecast, as timing is everything. If you time it right, the experience is rewarding in this pool wrapped
in lush forest on three sides.

There is also a small lawn area with a couple of picnic tables back at the car park. Note however that it is a one hundred metre walk from the car park to the falls, with one steep section.
It is a moderately easy walk, with the path paved most of the way except for the last little stretch along the river bank up to the pool.
There is no space at the falls for a picnic, with just enough space to plonk your clothes on an elevated rock but not much else.
