Accommodation at the start of the walk to the falls:

The nearest accommodation to Cumberland Falls is the Cumberland River Holiday Park, which is located directly at the start of the walk to the falls. Even if you are not staying at the holiday park, you will need to walk alongside and through the holiday park to reach the start of the walk to the falls. The holiday park is quite picturesque, with the clear and shallow pebbled Cumberland River running beside the park, and imposing mountains and rocky cliffs overhead enclosing the Cumberland River valley. You can book camping or cabins via the holiday park directly, with the possibility of cheaper rates for cabins through a re-seller. Accomodation in the nearest town (Lorne):

Lorne is the closest large town to the falls, roughly 7 km to the north of the falls by road. If you would like to stay close to the falls, but also close to shops and other amenities, you can try accommodation in Lorne. Whilst high quality accommodation in Lorne fills quickly, there are dozens of holiday rentals available to choose from if you book early enough. Where I stayed

When visiting Cumberland Falls, I travelled here on a day trip from Melbourne, so did not end up staying overnight here. It is roughly a 2 hr 15 minute drive to the holiday park, then a 3 km walk to the falls.
