Where did I stay when visiting Warburton Water World for a splash and dash? How did I travel to this free, multi-feature splash park in the Yarra Valley?

Accommodation close to Warburton Water World:
Warburton Water World is at the site of the old Warburton swimming pool within the Warburton Community Recreation Reserve at the eastern end of town, on the northern side of
the Yarra River. The closest accommodation is the Warburton Holiday Park, which has direct access from the campground to Water World.
If you are travelling with young kids and want accommodation next to a splash park, then this is the place to stay. You can book powered and unpowered tent sites, or cabins, directly via the
holiday park website, with the possibility of cheaper cabin accommodation via a
reseller.

The holiday park has cabins, powered and unpowered sites, and I saw several people with dogs in the dog-friendly caravan
and camping area (but dogs must be on a lead at all times). There are some dog-friendly cabins as well. Walking around the park it appeared clean, with fairly spacious sites, and
with the guests that I could see happily relaxing at their sites or down by the river.
Accommodation in the closest town (Warburton):
Warburton is spread out in three sections, with Water World at the eastern end of town, the supermarket and park in the centre of town, and the bakery and waterwheel at the western
end of town. The
Warburton Motel
is within easy walking distance (400 m) of Water World, with the 1-2 bedroom house
Film Makers Cottage
also in the eastern part of town, albeit up a hill. If you want accommodation closer to the supermarket,
Warburton Lodge
is in the middle of town.

Where I stayed
I have visited Warburton many times on a half-day or full-day trip from elsewhere in Melbourne, so have not ended up staying overnight in town.
