For swimmers who also love a post-swim brekky, this 75 metre wide netted swimming enclosure at the Wallis Lake outlet is right in front of
a hugely popular cafe. With a permanently open lake outlet, this is a salt water swim.

Getting into the water here feels a little like putting on a show, with a full car park on warm weekends and lots of
pedestrian traffic, mulling around the cafe and walking along the short promenade and out to the end of the rock wall.
The views from the picnic tables are pretty good, with 270 degree views looking out across the river to Forster, with the Forster-Tuncurry
Bridge and the Forster town centre in the distance.

The beach here is wide with good clean sand for entry into the water. At 75 metres long and with a gentle swell, it is good for
long lap swimming in off-peak times, noting however that the shark net is not in a straight line, so you need to orientate yourself by swimming
parallel to the beach rather than the buoys.
Despite the name, this is not a pool formed by a bed of rock, so it is not your traditional rock pool. However there are plenty of rocks around with the pool sitting
in between two breakwater walls.

After your swim there are a series of concrete steps where you can get dry and brush off the sand after your swim,
that also provide a slightly elevated spot to sit and watch the action in the pool, warm coffee in hand, or head over to the cafe for
some revitalising nutrition. Last time I checked, the cafe opens at 6.30 am every day.
